Autumn Glen is situated in the city of Moreno Valley. The city is a dynamic community half-way between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Moreno Valley is nestled between local mountains and Lake Perris and is just one hour from the mountains, the desert and the ocean. The city is growing tremendously, as the population has nearly tripled since the city’s incorporation 20 years ago.

Moreno Valley has three golf courses including the 27-hole Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Club, ranked among the top 75 public courses in the U.S. The course is home to the Nike Inland Empire Open, a PGA-sponsored event that features the country's hottest young golfers. Moreno Valley is also home to the 8,000-acre Lake Perris State Park. This state park has boating, fishing, and camping facilities. Box Springs Mountain Park provides trails for hiking and horseback riding. Moreno Valley's city park system has 24 parks with over 288 acres, and includes a 9-hole executive golf course and public tennis courts.

The Moreno Valley School District and Val Verde Unified School District will serve residents of Autumn Glen. The mission of the Moreno Valley Unified School District, embracing its diversity, is to prepare students academically and socially to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society. This district has 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 3 high schools (as well as one charter school). Val Verde Unified School District has 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school. Students in either district will be educated in an environment dedicated to being comfortable, safe and success driven. After attending high school in either of these districts, graduates can attend the Riverside Community College Moreno Valley campus, which is an accredited two-year institution.
